UK (St Mary’s University Twickenham) Leading St Mary’s Academic Wins Technology Collaboration Prize
A collaboration between leading St Mary’s University academic, Dr Alex Atack, and wearable technology partner NURVV, was celebrated last week at the Business Innovation Growth (BIG) Summit and Showcase.
The partnership was awarded ‘Outstanding Collaboration in Technological Innovation 2021/22’ for innovation projects delivered through a combination of NURVV’s technological expertise and St Mary’s research capabilities and gold-standard laboratories.
Benefits for NURVV included the development of new features to the existing NURVV RUN offering and research undertaken to enable entry into new market sectors. At the same time, St Mary’s University research capabilities had the opportunity to be applied and refined through interaction with ‘real-world’, commercial scenarios.
St Mary’s Vice-Chancellor said, “I’m delighted that St Mary’s University and NURVV have won this award, recognising this successful research partnership. St Mary’s is keen to work with local businesses so we can help them to grow and contribute to the local economy, whilst also creating opportunities to use our research for wider community benefit. We’re really delighted that this work has been recognised by the South London Partnership and we look forward to our collaboration growing in the future.”
The collaboration was made possible through support and funding from the BIG knowledge exchange programmes. For more information on NURVV products please refer to their website.
