UK (University of Chester) University Centre Warrington gets into the festive spirit
Students and staff at University Centre Warrington demonstrated their artistic skills as part of the town’s Christmas festivities.
In preparation for the Lantern Parade through the centre of Warrington, the University hosted Community Objectives, a community focused creative arts and events organisation, to run a series of lantern making workshops in its Time Square building, open to students, staff, members of the public and children of all ages. During the day, over 220 individual lanterns were decorated.
The festivities were brought to the town through the Warrington Business Improvement District (Warrington BID) and its range of partners. As a result of its relocation to the town centre, Dr Brendan O’Sullivan representing University Centre Warrington, will be working more closely with the Warrington BID team in the new year seeking to develop the University as a hub for community activity and engagement and a key supporter and contributor to the cultural life of the town.
Brendan said: “It was great to see so many people come together at the workshops and take part in the Lantern Parade. I’m very much looking forward to working closely with the Warrington BID team to maximise the opportunities our new town centre location can bring to the community.”
